Mallow RFC had the Official Launch of Their Tag Rugby Festival recently in Albert Lynch's Pub. There was a good turnout of players and supporters to welcome in the Tag Festival 2019.

The proceedings were led by Club President Paul Barry, he thanked everyone for coming and wished the Committee well for the upcoming Festival. He then thanked the Tag Committee for the ongoing work, he noted the success of the Club especially last Season being promoted to Div 1 and winning Junior Club of the year. He said the Tag Festival is growing year on year and last year there was a record, with eighteen teams taking part.

Next up, Sean Hayes of MTD precision engineering ltd. who are kindly the main sponsor of the Festival this year. MTD is an engineering company based in little island, they specialise in machine parts for the pharmaceutical and related industries. Sean Hayes spoke about the importance of inclusion in sport and the participation of the Cope teams in the festival, he said that the club should be very proud of this.

Sean Hayes then presented the Director of Tag the Festival Darryl Barry with a generous Cheque. Darryl thanked Sean for his kind sponsorship and assured the money would be invested wisely, Darryl went on to tell us a few details of the Festival.
