On what was a sunny and pleasant Saturday, the Mallow U12 girls went to Bruff to play in a Munster girls minis blitz featuring teams from around the province. The girls played 3 games which featured some excellent carries by a variety of players as well as some excellent tries scored in the corners following some great handling by the entire back line. Ian Vaughan, girls rugby coordinator with Mallow RFC, who was at the blitz with the girls, was impressed by the tackling and passing skills of the players and we look forward to the next blitz on December 1st. New girls are always welcome to come out and give rugby a try to see if they like it.

Mallow RFC has a minis girls section (U8, 10 and 12) that practices from 10am to 11am in Mallow town park on Saturdays, as well as under 14, 16 and 18 girls teams (practices on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 to 8.30 PM in the town park. New girls are always welcome and no sports experience is necessary and coaches ensure that all the girls learn rugby skills and participate in non-contact and contact games based on individual girls interests and abilities.
